I have a confession to make. I watch The Bachelor. It entertains me on Monday nights. Ok, now that I got that out of the way....
On this season's first episode, they had a series of dates in Sonoma and one of the dates was at a restaurant that I've been meaning to talk about. Last year, we took a trip to Napa and had a lovely lunch at the girl & the fig in Sonoma. It is one of those restaurants that leaves an impression on you: "country food with a French passion" is what chef-owner Sondra Bernstein calls her theme. The restaurant not only served seasonal fresh, local ingredients but also had unique art on the walls and their own line of body and home products. Artist Julie Higgins' work is displayed all around the restaurant and definitely adds a unique charm to the atmosphere. My favorite souvenir from Sonoma was the restaurant's fig & orange body lotion. I never thought I'd purchase body lotion from a restaurant before but it seriously is one of the best smelling lotions I've ever tried.
If you can't get to Sonoma anytime soon, they also have a cookbook that captures the essence of the restaurant, available here.
PS: This wasn't a post about The Bachelor, but if you need to get anything off your chest about the show, I'm all ears! :)
